Shuttle Bus Driver

Description:

Summary: Drives bus to transport passengers over specified routes according to established time schedule.

The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by this position. Employee(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description.

Essential Job Functions:
• Drives bus to and from individual residence or central loading area.
• Assists passengers into and out of the bus.
• Operates radio or similar device to communicate with the Casino and/or other vehicles to report disruption of service or other problems.
• Works with other Casino departments in order to communicate arrival and departure times of vehicles during special events.
• Conducts daily tallies of passengers and monitors the number of passengers at each location; maintains trip records and documents passenger incidents.
• Inspects the bus before travel, maintains the bus with gas and oil; cleans and services the bus as required.

• Follows all Corporate and departmental safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge of:
• Safe driving policies, practices, and procedures.
• Basic operation of vehicles.

Required Skill in:
• Driving a variety of major vehicles including both automatic and manual transmissions.
• Providing customer service to diverse populations of guests.
• Communicating both orally and in writing.
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.

Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent, and three (3) months driving and customer service work experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Low security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
• Valid Class “C” State of Oregon Driver’s License.

Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
• Work is normally performed in a vehicle and outside environment with exposure to extreme cold and heat.
• Work is subject to frequent sitting, occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling and lifting up to 25 pounds.
• May be subject to fumes and vibration.

Equipment and Tools Utilized:
• Equipment utilized includes vehicles, hand tools used in the maintenance of vehicles, telephone and two-way radio.
