Description:

Performs a variety of surveillance functions in support of departmental operations.

Duties:

Essential Job Functions:
• Assists in ensuring the proper protection and security of the Casino’s assets.
• Assists in ensuring the proper protection of the Casino’s guests and employees.
• Monitors activity in all non-gaming areas of the Casino and property.
• Detects infringements and investigates disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalism, and accidents.
• Monitors and reports on the consumption and service of alcoholic beverages and for compliance with casino policies and procedures.
• Completes and maintains a variety of surveillance records and documentation.
• Notifies appropriate supervisory personnel regarding technical issues, suspicious behavior, security/safety risks, improprieties, violations, and/or illegal activity.
• Protects administrative offices and other areas of the Casino and Lodge.
• Reports all accidents and conditions requiring correction; writes reports including action taken.
• Monitors traffic control issues.

• Follows all Corporate and departmental safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge of:
• General security and surveillance principles and practices.
• Surveillance equipment and technology and computer hardware and software applications.
• Casino operations, policies and procedures.
• Surveillance records, reports, and documentation.
• Principles and laws regarding defensive tactics and use of force.

Required Skill in:
• Performing a variety of surveillance functions.
• Providing assistance in ensuring the appropriate protection of the Casino’s assets, employees, and guests.
• Operating various types of surveillance equipment.
• Preparing and maintaining accurate surveillance records and documentation.
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.

Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent, and one (1) year casino security or surveillance experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• High security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.

Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
• Work is performed in a gaming environment with exposure to tobacco smoke and noise.
• Work is subject to frequent sitting, intermittent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

Equipment and Tools Utilized:
• Equipment utilized includes surveillance equipment, personal computer, and standard office equipment.
